Reclaiming the Divine Feminine: Restoring Balance in a Suppressed World

For centuries, the Divine Feminine—the sacred essence embodied by women and mothers—has been systematically dismantled, suppressed, and vilified. The life cycles women carry within them, once celebrated as sacred, have been stripped of their reverence. Mothers are no longer recognised for their unique, divine roles but are instead pushed into survival mode, disconnected from their true essence, and subjected to relentless pressure to conform to ideals that serve a fractured societal structure.

Mothers, in particular, bear the brunt of this assault. You only need to step into a family court to see the revolting extent to which systems are designed to tear them down. The role of the Divine Mother, the qualities she embodies, and the transformative power she holds are systematically undermined.

"Her sacred essence is reduced to transactional terms, her power dismissed or distorted."

This is no accident. The dismantling of the Divine Feminine and the sacred mother has been intentional—a calculated effort to suppress a force that threatens the unbalanced structures of fear, control, and domination.

The Power of the Divine Feminine

The power of the Divine Feminine is not about dominance, control, or competition. It is not the kind of power society often equates with success. Instead, it is a sacred force, rooted in balance, harmony, and embodiment. This power comes from being in full alignment with one’s divine qualities—intuition, compassion, patience, nurturing, and creativity—and using them to uplift oneself and the greater community.

When women are allowed to stand fully in their sacred embodiment, they become catalysts for transformation. This is not a power that diminishes others but one that creates ripples of healing, balance, and growth. However, society’s fear of this power has led to its systematic suppression.

Misogyny, perpetuated by both men and women, fuels this cycle. The hatred and disdain directed toward women, particularly Mothers, forces them into survival mode, where their softness and nurturing essence are stripped away. This leads to behaviours born of desperation, which are then used as justification for continued hatred and mistrust. It is a vicious cycle, one that sustains itself through fear and control.

Sacredness Is Not Superiority

There is a deep misunderstanding that fuels this suppression: the belief that revering the sacred feminine somehow diminishes the sacred masculine. This fear drives jealousy and resistance, but it is based on a flawed premise. Sacredness is not about superiority. To view the Divine Feminine as sacred is not to say it is better or more important—it is to honour its unique role in creating balance and harmony.

The Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine are meant to complement one another, each holding unique qualities that, when aligned, create a harmonious whole. Supporting the sacred embodiment of women and mothers uplifts everyone, including men. Yet, the fear of what this sacred power represents—creation, transformation, and nurturing—has blinded many to its necessity.

The Work Ahead: Rebuilding in the Shadows

The world is not yet ready to fully embrace the Divine Feminine, and that is a painful truth. But the work cannot wait. It must begin now, even if it starts in the shadows. Quietly, privately, women can begin to reconnect with their sacred essence through ceremonies, practices, and spaces that honour the Divine Feminine. These acts of reclamation, though small, are seeds of change that will grow into a collective awakening.

Reclaiming the Divine Feminine requires unlearning the survival-based behaviours that have been forced upon women for generations. It demands a commitment to rediscovering and embodying the sacred qualities that have been suppressed. This is not easy work; it is a process of healing, relearning, and rebuilding. But it is essential—not just for women, but for the balance and healing of the entire world.

A Realisation of Purpose

For me, this journey has become clear only recently. While I have sensed its importance in fragments, I now see with clarity that this is my purpose: to help restore reverence for the Divine Feminine, to hold space for others to reconnect with their sacred essence, and to contribute to the balance the world so desperately needs. This work is not about rushing to solutions or making grand declarations. It is about quiet, intentional action, even if it must remain in the shadows for now. It is about holding ceremonies, creating spaces for women to reconnect with their sacred cycles, and slowly planting the seeds of change.

The dismantling of the Divine Feminine has been a calculated and systemic effort. But the power of this sacred force is undeniable, and its restoration will bring balance not just to women but to humanity as a whole. The time for this reclamation is now. Even if the world is not yet ready, the work begins with us.

Reclaiming the Divine Feminine

So what I've noticed is that women are currently very rarely functioning with divine qualities. Most women are operating from a place of survival, stuck at basic, defensive, and primal levels. We are so far from embodying the beauty of nourishing, loving, and affirming qualities and rarely find ourselves seeking in men the qualities of protection, stabilisation, structure, and guidance—predominantly what the divine masculine offers.

Do we embody qualities of both the masculine and feminine? Absolutely. But that is not the focus of this piece. This piece is really about what we need to do to truly bring back the Divine Feminine. You only need to come across a triggering post to witness the gender wars unfolding online. There, you’ll see hateful men and a real mix of highly defensive women—many of whom have denounced any interactions or partnerships with men—and those who align with the feminist movement. Reading those comments provides a stark understanding of how deeply divided we’ve become, and how this division diminishes not only the celebration of women but also the embodiment of their divinity.

One of the greatest problems we face is the fear and jealousy of men who don’t understand the sacred feminine embodiment. They fear that it implies superiority. This is not the case at all. Both are divine in nature, and both have meaningful and important roles. But the sacred journey of the Divine Feminine is something we don’t even remember or understand anymore. We are going to need to work really hard. While we may understand the attributes and qualities intellectually, we have lost the deeper connection to what it truly means to embody them.

When women go through the rites of passage and celebrate their various life cycles and stages, we begin to understand what those transitions mean. However, our society tends to ignore, reject, and dismiss women as they age. Once women age out of "youth" they are vilified, discarded, labelled, and ignored. They are made to feel inconvenient.

"This systemic devaluation is one of the greatest issues we face in reclaiming the sacred feminine."

What we need moving forward is to blend what we understand of ancient ceremonies with what we intuitively feel is appropriate for the present and future. Since we are so far removed from these understandings, particularly in secular, urban, and mainstream lifestyles that lack the depth of traditional communities, we need to develop entirely new ways of celebrating women. This goes beyond the idea of circles or surface-level practices.

As we welcome the Divine Feminine back into the world, I believe the Divine Masculine will naturally rise to meet and match that energy. When balanced, they can work cohesively, lovingly, and respectfully. The Divine Feminine is the natural first step in this process, but we must explore what it truly means to celebrate and embody this energy.

Once we embrace and embody these sacred cycles, we will open ourselves to the deeper wisdom and power available at each stage—depths and possibilities that many of us have only glimpsed or intuitively felt. However, we must acknowledge that these pathways have been muddied by colonialism, patriarchy, war and other forces that have fragmented our connection to these sacred traditions.

I plan to take active steps toward this work in 2025 by opening events and spaces to explore, educate, and celebrate the role of Divine Feminine. I feel deeply called to contribute to the restoration of this sacred energy, to help others reconnect with its essence, and to begin building the foundation for a world that honours the sacred cycles of life.

The work ahead is daunting but essential. Reclaiming the Divine Feminine will require effort, dedication, and the courage to challenge deeply ingrained systems. But through this work, we can restore balance and honour both the sacred feminine and masculine for the divine roles they are meant to embody.
