We are living in some of the most challenging times humanity has ever faced. The cracks in our society, systems, and ideologies are becoming undeniably visible. Although this makes navigating life exceptionally difficult, it also offers a profound opportunity to address and shift what has long been veiled or subtly present. What was once indistinct is now emerging, forcing us to ask vital questions: How do we, as a society, as a global movement, proceed?
This era is rife with triggers and turbulence, from violence and misogyny to polarized social debates that saturate our news feeds and social media. These triggers often spark powerful emotions—frustration, anger, rage—but they also offer a chance to reassess how we engage with the world and with each other. At first, I found myself reactive, arguing or shutting down in the face of these issues. But with time and introspection, I realized that matching hostility with hostility is not the path forward.
Energy Matching Energy: A Perspective on Change
From an energetic standpoint, when we respond to negativity or hostility with the same energy, we perpetuate the cycle. Nothing shifts. To create true change, a higher energy must meet and influence the lower energy, tipping the scales toward transformation. If we engage with aggression, anger, or domination—even in the name of justice—we contribute to the same low-frequency dynamics that we are trying to dismantle. Instead, we can draw on higher energies: compassion, understanding, and love.
It’s not easy to pause and avoid being reactive, especially when the issues are so triggering and personal. Misogyny, for example, isn't just upheld by men; it's embedded in societal ideals carried by both men and women. It’s the ideals that need dismantling, not the individuals who carry them. Change must come through fostering a society of respect and empowerment, not by stepping on someone else's neck to lift another demographic. That kind of reaction simply flips the power dynamic, keeping us stuck in the same cycle of suppression and resentment.
"We don’t dismantle harmful ideals by stepping on someone else’s neck; we do so by fostering respect and empowerment."

The Importance of Coming Together
During these heavy and exhausting times, the most powerful action we can take is to come together with others. This unity—whether with like-minded individuals or simply people who hold even one shared ideal—creates a profound energetic shift. When we connect in love and mutual respect, our collective light and energy are amplified, creating a ripple effect that impacts the collective consciousness
Coming together doesn’t require physical proximity. Technology offers incredible opportunities to connect with people across the globe. Even a group chat or sharing experiences online can foster a sense of unity. In these shared spaces, we not only amplify positivity but also disarm the isolation and frustration that many of us feel. Realizing that others are navigating the same challenges can clear the fog, helping us feel more productive and focused.
Shifting Within and Supporting Each Other
The act of uniting with others creates shifts within us that we might not even recognize at first. Simply spending time in silence with others, either virtually or in person, allows you to receive and align with the flow of the universe. It’s a reminder that we are surrounded by and a part of something much greater than ourselves.
I learned a powerful practice recently at one of Kachina Ma'an’s workshops: reach out energetically to the universe. Visualize strands of light, the beautiful, incredible flow of universal energy, wrapping around your hand. Draw that energy into your heart, feeling the universe within you and yourself as part of the universe. This alignment brings clarity, peace, and a sense of flow—qualities we need to navigate these challenging times.

Respect as a Cornerstone for Change
In the face of divisive issues, whether online or in person, it’s crucial to remain respectful. I’ve started commenting on triggering posts in ways that acknowledge the shared humanity behind even opposing perspectives. Instead of slamming someone down for their views, I try to find common ground or acknowledge the broader idea behind their statement. Often, people are deeply hurt—not necessarily by society but by individuals representing harmful ideologies. Responding with understanding, rather than matching their energy, opens the door for a real exchange.
"Change matters more than justice. Justice often rebalances power; true change uplifts humanity."
Moving Beyond Justice Toward Change
In these transformative times, change matters more than justice. Justice often implies retribution or balancing the scales of power, which risks perpetuating the same dynamics we wish to dissolve. True change, on the other hand, shifts energy, dissolves harmful ideals, and uplifts all of humanity. We can achieve this by fostering respect, unity, and higher consciousness in every interaction.
As we move toward the March Equinox, the energies we’re navigating may remain heavy, triggering, and challenging. But we have tools to navigate this: pausing before reacting, connecting with others, and cultivating compassion. The more we come together, the more we expand the light, dismantling the webs of hatred and negativity that weigh us down.
This is not an easy journey, but it is an essential one. By committing to higher perspectives, respectful dialogue, and unity, we become agents of the profound change this world so desperately needs.
